FairTax Act, A Bipartisan Bill
[Date]
The Honorable [First and Last Name of Congressman or Senator]
United States [House of Representatives or Senate]
Washington, D.C. 20510
Dear [Congressman or Senator Last Name]:
The FairTax Act, a bipartisan bill sponsored originally by John Linder
(R-GA) and
Collin Peterson (D-MN) would remove the burden of the income tax and
other federal income-based taxes.
The current tax system is incomprehensible. It is beyond reform. It
simply has to go.
The FairTax Act would replace the current tax system with a national
consumption tax that will:
* Allow Americans to keep 100% of their paychecks,
pensions, and Social Security payments.
* Dramatically reduce the cost of goods and
services,
* Allow families to save more for home ownership,
education, and retirement.
* Raise the same amount of money for the federal
government that the current system does, and
* Make American products more competitive at home
and overseas.
I urge you to heed the request of a
rapidly growing number of FairTax supporters. The vast majority
of voters will surely support you if you are seen as
responsible
for passage of this historic tax reform measure.
As a constituent, I would like to
know where you stand on the FairTax.
Sincerely,
Your Constituent
